Ala.— The classic-rock-mixed-with-blues sound of Grace Potter will headline Huntingdon College's annual CloverJam concert, Saturday, April 6, beginning with an opening act at

Grace Potter performs most often with her
band, the Nocturnals, an American rock band formed in 2002 and based in
Waitsfield, Vermont. Under contract with Hollywood Records since 2005,
the band's 2010 album, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals,
garnered international acclaim and became a major commercial success,
topping iTunes charts. Other albums include the self-produced Nothing
but the Water (2005) and This is Somewhere (2007) and the
recent and critically acclaimed The Lion The Beast The Beat,
2012, produced in collaboration with Black
Keys producer Dan Auerbach. Potter, a
vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, has been compared with rock and
blues singers like Janis Joplin and Koko Taylor. Potter's voice is
featured in the soundtrack of the Disney
movie, Tangled, for which she
co-wrote lyrics. The band recorded a cover of the Grace
Slick/Jefferson Airplane song, "White Rabbit," that was featured in the
Tim Burton film, Alice in Wonderland. Potter's music has been
described in the genres rock and roll, folk rock, blues, roots rock,
hard rock, and country rock. She has collaborated with such artists as
country singer Kenny Chesney and rock musician Daryl Hall, among others.
This is the eighth year for CloverJam, an annual spring music/benefit concert at Huntingdon College that began in 2005. Profits
from this year's concert will benefit Stella's Voice, a mission that
speaks for the orphans of Moldova and promotes awareness of human
trafficking victims in the country.
