The Julia gets a facelift

The DH fall 2012A facelift is underway in Huntingdon's Julia Walker Russell Dining Hall—a space students affectionately call "The Julia" or "the DH."  A new floor plan will make the space more inviting and will improve diner convenience.  New lighting and furniture will enhance the dining atmosphere, making the massive room a cozier space for hanging out with friends, faculty-student discussions, small group meetings, and the myriad of other uses the dining hall serves.

Julia Walker Russell Dining Hall, built in 1963, was the first building on campus to be named in honor of an alumna of the College.  The main dining room seats up to 500.  The building also houses the Mary Elizabeth Stallworth Dining Room, a space where smaller groups can combine food with meeting or gathering time.
The renovations are expected to be complete in time for the beginning of classes this fall.
