Huntingdon hosts Special Olympics tournament
Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College will host eight teams participating in the State of Alabama Special Olympics Basketball Tournament Friday, March 9, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with games taking place in Roland Arena, Roland Student Center (main campus), and in the Wilson Gymnasium, Wilson Community and Athletic Center (Cloverdale Campus). Students from the Huntingdon Department of Sport Science and Physical Education (SSPE) and the Department of Psychology will provide sport entertainment; serve as team liaisons, event managers, and first responders; officiate; monitor crowd control; and serve as score keepers for the tournament.
This is the second year Huntingdon has hosted part of the tournament. State Special Olympic teams will also play at Faulkner University and at Frazer Memorial, St. James, and Aldersgate United Methodist Churches.
