Anthony J. Leigh, a native of Sheffield, Alabama, came to Huntingdon as vice president for college and alumni relations in February 2009. Prior to his work at Huntingdon, Anthony served as Alabama’s Deputy State Treasurer, overseeing the external affairs of the Alabama Treasury Department. He also worked in Washington, D.C., as a legislative assistant for U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, Huntingdon Class of 1969, for three years.
Anthony earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Wofford College in South Carolina, where he was presented the President’s Award upon graduation. At Wofford, he was a three-year officer of the student body serving as secretary, vice president, and president. He served on the Wofford College National Alumni Executive Council from 2007-2010.
Anthony and his wife, Wendy, are members of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church. He serves as the Lay Leader and is a member of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee and the Board of Stewards. In the Montgomery community, Anthony is a member of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Rotary Club, the Advisory Board of Baptist Medical Center East, and the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Zoological Society. He serves as the Treasurer of the Committee on Archives and History for the Alabama West-Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, and he is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Landmarks Foundation.
