Biography

As a graduate teaching assistant during his doctoral course work, Dr. Truman received the Earl Hartsell Award for excellence in teaching composition, the Off-Campus Fellowship, and the Howell-Voitle Dissertation Award.  He has taught at UNC-Chapel Hill, Troy State University, and Auburn University, where he was honored with the Instructor Teaching Award and the Instructional Excellence Award. He joined the Department of Language and Literature faculty in 2007.
