First Year Experience

Huntingdon’s First Year Experience (FYEx) program is a three-credit course for entering students, designed to ease the transition between high school and college. Topics covered in this required course include college adjustment issues such as time management, the College Honor Code, and social pressures; study, research, and writing skills; exploring career options; and discussions of current world issues and trends.

Message from the Director

Welcome to Huntingdon College’s Fall 2009 First Year Experience home page! We invite FYEx students and faculty to contribute suggestions, information, useful tips, and observations.

We’re grateful to FYEx instructor Dr. Doba Jackson for sharing his PowerPoint presentation, Computer Basics (PDF), with all of us. We think you’ll find it useful and concise.

We’re quite open to constructive criticism. Please e-mail me with any questions... or answers you may have regarding your First Year Experience at Huntingdon.

Hoping your first year at Huntingdon is going wonderfully well—

Dr. Robin Gunther
Director, First Year Experience Program
