Baccalaureate
A time to worship, a time for praise, a time for thanksgiving. Baccalaureate, held the afternoon prior to Commencement, is a formal worship service that includes the entire College community, including faculty, staff, trustees, and members of the graduating classes (traditional and Adult Degree Completion) and their families. Hymns, anthems, prayers, and Biblical readings are part of this moving and memorable service that traces its roots back to the 13th century at the University of Cambridge, England. The Baccalaureate sermon is offered each year by the president of the College, a tradition that began in 2012.
