Athletic Hall of Fame 2011

Eugene Lewis '64 transferred to Huntingdon in 1962 from Young Harris Junior College. The starting center on the basketball team, he helped lead the Hawks to the NAIA national tournament his senior year.  He graduated from Huntingdon in 1964 with degrees in mathematics and history, was selected for Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities, and was president of his senior class. 

Following Huntingdon, he worked for South Central Bell for 16 years, and then joined Royal Cup Coffee for 26 years, advancing to the rank of vice president of operations. He earned his MBA at Vanderbilt University and is an active member of Independent Presbyterian Church.  He is married to the former Merry Talley '64, his Huntingdon classmate.  They have three children and 10 grandchildren.
