Lovvorn’s Top-10 Finish Leads Lady Hawks in Final Round of Huntingdon Hawks Invitational

PRATTVILLE, Ala.—Sophomore Tiffany Lovvorn recorded her first collegiate top-10 individual finish to lead the Huntingdon women’s golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Huntingdon Hawks Invitational on Tuesday, which was played at the Prattville Country Club.

The Lady Hawks finished with a final-round score of 378 and posted a two-day total of 760. Huntingdon finished 89 strokes behind Birmingham-Southern, who won the tournament with a total of 671. West Georgia finished 10 strokes behind, while Alabama State climbed to third place following a 333 in the final round and finished with a 695.

Lovvorn finished ninth in the field of 39 at the tournament, posting rounds of 87 and 86 to finish with a total of 173.

Sophomore Kaitlin Rozof was the next to finish for the Lady Hawks, posting a 96 in the final round to finish tied for 22nd with a total of 190. Freshman Ali Hamil trimmed two strokes from her opening round to post a 95 and finish 25th. Sophomore Amanda Houston cut seven strokes from her first round to post a 101, while fellow sophomore Alex Foster carded a 113. Freshman Sarah Senter, who played as an individual, saved nine strokes in the final round to post a 93 and finish 26th.

Alabama State’s Aileen Meredith earned individual honors at the tournament, winning in a playoff over BSC’s Ashley Lovell. Each golfer posted a total of 156 in the event, while Meredith carded a tournament-low round of 74 on Tuesday.

The event completed the spring portion of the Lady Hawks’ schedule. Huntingdon’s women’s golf team will not compete again until the fall of this year.
