Huntingdon Volleyball Drops Both Matches on Second Day at Hendrix Tournament

CONWAY, Ark. --- The Huntingdon volleyball loses two games today, falling first to Ouachita Baptist, 0-3, and later to Howard Payne, 3-1.

Huntingdon (3-5) opened Saturday with a loss to Ouachita Baptist, 14-25, 19-25, 21-25. Freshman Abby Brown led the team with 7 kills, while freshman Melony Motley added 5. Junior Alyssa Eason tallied 13 assists to pace the squad, while sophomore Bianca Hulsey added 12.

Defensively, senior Krissie Jones posted 9 digs. Freshman Abby Brown recorded one solo block and one assisted block, while freshman Melony Motley added four assisted blocks in the match.

Seniors Clare Shannon, Christine Whiten and sophomore Bianca Hulsey each posted one service ace in the match.

In the second contest against Howard Payne, the Lady Hawks dropped the match in four sets, 9-25, 25-22, 19-25, 20-25.

Senior Clare Shannon, junior Abby Carter and freshman Kelly Kahumoku each posted 9 kills. Junior Alyssa Eason tallied 25 assists to pace the squad.

Defensively, junior Alyssa Eason led the team with 9 digs, while senior Krissie Jones notched 8. Freshman Melony Motley paced the team with five assisted blocks, while Abby Carter and Kelly Kahumoku each posted three assisted blocks in the match.

Eason and Whiten recorded 2 service aces against Howard Payne.

Huntingdon returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 14th, taking on Pensacola Christian at 6 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla.
