Lady Hawks Spilt in GSAC Tri-Match

LAGRANGE, Ga. ---- The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up a 3-2 win in the GSAC tri-match Saturday, (25-6, 25-16, 24-26, 23-25, 15-13) to LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA, before dropping second match 3-0 to Covenant.

Senior Clare Shannon, junior Alyssa Eason and junior Abby Carter led the team with 9 kills each. Junior Alyssa Eason paced the squad with 14 assists, while sophomore Bianca Hulsey added 10.

Defensively, junior Alyssa Eason recorded 9 digs in the contest, while senior Christine Whiten tallied 5 digs. Junior Abby Carter recorded one solo block against the Lady Panthers. Senior Clare Shannon and freshman Abby Brown each posted three assisted blocks.

Junior Alyssa Eason paced the team with three service aces in the match, while senior Clare Shannon and freshman Abby Brown each posted two.

In the second match of the day, Huntingdon dropped three straight sets, (25-18, 25-14, 25-19) to Covenant College.

Freshman Melony Motley led the team with 7 kills, while senior Clare Shannon posted 6 and freshman Abby Brown added 5. Junior Alyssa Eason led the Lady Hawks with 26 assists.

Defensively, senior Krissie Jones recorded 7 digs in the contest, while senior Clare Shannon posted 5. Junior Abby Carter recorded three assisted blocks against the Lady Scots.

Junior Alyssa Eason and senior Clare Shannon paced the team with one service aces each in the match.

Huntingdon will play at home at Roland Arena Tuesday, September 28th at 6 p.m. to take on Faulkner University.
