Volleyball Picks Up Two Conference Wins in Georgia

MACON, Ga. ---- The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up two conference victory's Saturday afternoon against Salem (25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16) and Wesleyan (25-19, 25-8, 25-9).

In the first match against Salem, Senior Clare Shannon and junior Abby Carter led the team with 12 kills each. Junior Alyssa Eason paced the Lady Hawks with 31assists in the match.

Defensively, senior Krissie Jones posted 14 digs, while Eason recorded 13. Senior Clare Shannon recorded  two solo blocks and one assisted block, while freshman Abby Brown posted five assisted blocks.

Freshman Abby Brown led the team with five service aces, while senior Krissie Jones added three service aces each in the match.

In the second win for the Hawks on the day,  junior Abby Carter and Christine Whiten each led the team with 6 kills. For the second time straight match, junior Alyssa Eason paced the Lady Hawks with 19 assists in the match.

Defensively, senior Krissie Jones posted  9 digs, while sophomore Bianca Hulsey recorded 3. Melony Motley and Angelle McMillan each had one assisted block each in the contest.

Senior Krissie Jones and junior Alyssa Eason led the team with seven service aces each in the match.

Huntingdon (9-11 overall) (3-0 GSAC) will return home to take on Stillman on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The match will be played at the Catherine Dixon Roland Arena starting at 6 p.m.
