JACKSONVILLE, Ala. ---- The Huntingdon men’s and women’s cross country team each competed in its fourth meet of the season, the JSU Foothills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State, on Saturday.
On the women’s side, the Lady Hawks finished 5th in the field of twelve on the 5K course, while the Hawks posted a 6th place finish out of eleven on the 8K course. The Lady Hawks rounded out the top five behind Jacksonville State, Emory, West Alabama and Montevallo. The men’s team finished just outside the top five following West Alabama, Clayton State, Jacksonville State, Morehouse and Emory.
The Lady Hawks were led by junior Caitlin McMahon, who finished 15th with a time of 19:58.25. Fellow junior Sheaney Marshall placed 25th with a time of 20:47.10, while junior Jackie Daniels posted a 37th place time of 21:20.82. Kylie Piercy and Chala Monk finished in 55th and 56th place with times of 23:04.34 and 23:19.51, respectively.
Brianna McClure and Jodie Thomas rounded out the scoring for the Lady Hawks with 23:26.49 and 25:41.70 times, respectively.
Senior Kent Hagan paced the men’s squad, finishing 20th with a time of 28:28.10. Junior Jeff Jenkins finished next for the Hawks in 27th place with a time of 29:01.80.
Junior McDowell Pinckard posted a time of 30:29.82 in 48th, while freshman Patrick Cross came in 54th place and recorded a time of 30:57.91. Junior Alex Taylor with a time of 31:49.40 in 63rd place, while sophomore Ian Layne finished in 69th place at 32:39. Senior Cameron Stephenson and Josh Johnson rounded out the men’s side with times of 37:06.18 and 37:10.89, respectively.

Huntingdon will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, when it travels to Troy, Ala. in the Coach “O” Invitational, hosted by Troy University.
