TROY,
Ala. ---- The Huntingdon College men's basketball team fell 100-59 on
Friday evening to Division I Troy University. The Trojans jumped out
to an early 9-0 lead, Huntingdon cut the lead down to six points,
29-23, with 8:17 left in the first half. Troy pulled away before the
half and posted 100 points in the exhibition victory over the Hawks.
Ephriam
Hudson led the Hawks with 13 points, while Deshaun Williams and Jacob
Moody added 11 and 7, respectively. D'Awvalo Turnipseed also
contributed 7 points for the Hawks (0-1).
Trailing
by 23 points at the half, 52-29, Huntingdon couldn't match the
Trojans second half scoring, being outscored 48-30 in the loss.
James
Daniels led the team with six rebounds and one blocked shot, while
Ephriam Hudson also added in five boards.
The
Trojans' Vernon Taylor paced the team with 21 points and 7 rebounds
in the win.
For
the game, the Trojans held a 46-27 advantage on the glass. Huntingdon
converted 31.7 percent of its shots, hitting 20-of-63, while Troy
finished 34-of-61 (55.7 percent).
Huntingdon
will look to rebound on Monday, November 15, when it travels to
Division II West Alabama in Livingston, Ala for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
