LAGRANGE,
Ga. ---- The Huntingdon College men’s basketball team fell 64-45 to
Centre College on Saturday afternoon at the LaGrange Classic. The
Colonels went on a 20-0 run over the Hawks in the first half, and
Huntingdon was unable to mount a comeback.
The
Hawks went into the half down 38-16, and trailed by 24 points at one
point in the second half. The Colonels hit 11-of-20 three-point
shots, while Huntingdon only converted 3-of-12 in the game. Although
the Hawks outscored Centre 29-26 in the second half, it wasn't enough
to overcome the deficit.
Deshaun
Williams led the team with nine points, followed by Adrian Williams'
seven points. Ephriam Hudson and Jack Montgomery recorded 6 points
each in the loss.
Centre
(3-0) was paced by Bryon Ellis, who scored a game-high 18 points, and
shot 5-for-7 from the three point line.
For
the game, the Colonels held a 37-22 advantage on the glass. Centre
converted 46.9 percent of its shots, hitting 23-of-49, while the
Hawks finished 17-of-46 (37 percent).
Huntingdon
(1-2) will play its first home game of the season on Sunday, Nov. 28,
at 3 p.m. in Roland Arena. The Lady Hawks will start the day at 1
p.m. in their home opener against Millsaps, before the Hawks take the
court on Sunday.
