ATLANTA,
Ga. ---- The Huntingdon College men's basketball team started the new
year out with a loss on the road to Emory University, 95-71, on
Sunday evening. The Hawks' led by four points early in the contest,
before the Eagles' went on a 10-0 run and the victory.
Emory
went into halftime with a 12 point lead, 46-34. In the second half,
Huntingdon never regained a lead, while the Eagles extended its' lead
after a 10-0 run, 58-37, with 16:57 left in the game to secure a win.
Senior
Adrian Williams had a game-high 17 points and paced the Hawks with
seven rebounds, followed by senior Deshaun Williams' 10 points in the
loss.
Despite
the loss, Huntingdon held a 38-35 advantage on the glass. The Eagles'
converted 52.4 percent of its shots, hitting 33-of-63, while the
Hawks finished 23-of-63 (36.5 percent).
Emory
(8-2) was led by Jake Davis with 14 points and a game-high nine
rebounds in the win.
Huntingdon's
(4-8) next game is in Roland Arena against Pensacola Christian on
Saturday, Jan. 8. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
