RALEIGH,
N.C. ---- The Huntingdon College women’s basketball team fell on
the road to Meredith College, 81-40, on Friday evening. The Lady
Hawks' opened the contest with a 6-0 lead, before falling behind
30-15 from Meredith's 23-0 run, with 6:41 left in the first half to
secure the win.
For
the game, Meredith held a 48-31 advantage on the glass. The Avenging
Angels converted 51 percent of its shots, hitting 28-of-55, while
Huntingdon finished 16-of-57 (28 percent).
Junior
Whitney Toole led the team with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Maggie
Decker, Tristiana Mays, Kayla Northington, and LaTerial Williams all
finished with five points in the loss.
Meredith
(3-6) was led by Bryana Holmes with 18 points in the win.
The
Lady Hawks' (3-5, GSAC 1-0) next game is Saturday, Jan. 8th,
against Great South Athletic Conference opponent Salem College (2-6)
in Winston-Salem, N.C. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. the loss.
