Four Hawks Receive GSAC Weekly Honors |
LAGRANGE, Ga. --- The Great South Athletic Conference announced its weekly honors with four of Huntingdon College’s student-athletes on the list.
Huntingdon’s freshman Holly Ostrander was named the softball GSAC Player of the Week after recording 11 RBI’s in four games last week. A native of Clearwater, Fla., Ostrander posted a .538 batting average (7-for-13) including a grand slam against Millsaps College with a .923 slugging percentage in four games.
The GSAC baseball Player of the Week went to sophomore Keegan Lambeth after helping the Hawks win four straight games on the week, including a 3-2 win over 24th-ranked Millsaps. At the plate, Lambeth was 8-for-13 (.615) in four games while scoring seven runs and driving in three. The sophomore outfielder was a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases and recorded three put outs in the field.
Freshman Tyler Creamer and sophomore Larry Pritchett took home the GSAC doubles Players of the Week honor following wins over Maryville (8-1) and Piedmont (8-6) from the No. 2 doubles position for Huntingdon’s men’s tennis team.
