Bree Giordana Picks Up GSAC Pitcher of the Year Honors Prior to the Tournament |
MACON, Ga. ---
Junior Bree Giordana took home the Great South Athletic Conference
Pitcher of the Year award following twelve wins and 100 total strike
outs on Thursday. Huntingdon College's softball team will play
third-seeded Maryville College on Friday, Apr. 29, beginning at 4:30
p.m. Eastern on Wesleyan's campus.
The Lady Hawks
(24-14, 10-2 GSAC) enter the GSAC tournament with 153 total stolen
bases which tops NCAA Division III, while Huntingdon is ranked-third
in stolen bases per game with a 4.03 average.
Huntingdon will
try to win their first GSAC tournament championship since 2006 with
the help Giordana and sophomore Melissa McClure inside the circle.
Giordana and McClure have combined for 91 total strike outs during
conference competition.
