MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon men’s soccer player Dallas
Thomas played a key role in two Great South Athletic Conference battles last
week.
The senior scored two of the Hawks’ three goals during the
week and is tied for second on the team in goals scored this season. Thomas’
performance helped him earn this week’s ALFA Insurance® Student-Athlete of the Week.
“I was very surprised to
find out I had been chosen, but it’s an honor to be recognized,” said Thomas,
who is majoring in Chemistry with a Minor in Religion.
Thomas scored one goal in a 2-0 win over LaGrange to help Huntingdon
earn its first GSAC win of the season. In a 2-1 loss to Piedmont, the Wetumpka native scored the Hawks’ goal. Thomas
and the Hawks close out the regular season at Covenant on Saturday before
traveling to LaGrange, Ga., for the GSAC tournament on Nov. 4.
“We started the season off slow, but we’ve
been playing better at the end,” Thomas said. “We’ve picked up our game and we’re
being more competitive in all of our matches, but especially our conference
matches.”
ALFA is pleased to recognize Thomas and all Huntingdon
student-athletes for their hard work and accomplishments throughout the
2011-2012 season. |
