The Huntingdon Leadership Initiative

 Leadership Luncheon--Bobby Bright

The Huntingdon Leadership Initiative (HLI) is not just any leadership program. It’s a fun, hands-on leadership experience geared to helping Huntingdon College students reach their full potential during their college years and beyond, both inside and outside the classroom. Whether by seminars on numerous leadership topics, debates on current events, community service projects, off-campus overnight retreats, or student organization officer training, HLI teaches participants to lead with integrity during their time at Huntingdon College. Participation in the Leadership Initiative ensures that students develop skills in areas like time management, team dynamics, communication, conflict management, and goal-setting.

HLI is an invitational leadership program. We are looking for students who truly desire to become better student leaders. Students are invited to participate based on expressing interest in the program and by nomination from Huntingdon College faculty, staff, and administrators. Invitation letters are sent out mid-September. After accepting an invitation to participate in the Leadership Initiative, students attend various leadership activities on a course to complete the program’s entirety as a graduate of the Leadership Initiative and Huntingdon College. Though participating in the program itself is by invitation, all HLI-sponsored events are open to any and all Huntingdon College students.
