Move In Day 2

Student Learning Goals are intended to provide staff tangible goals to work toward within the residence halls.  It is important to recognize that the pursuit of these goals is a daily process that will only be enabled by consistent focus and support. 

Students living in the residence hall will…

  • Challenge oneself  to grow spiritually
    • Attend spiritual/religious services on campus
    • Attend residence hall programs dealing with faith-based issues
    • Seek to converse with fellow residents, students, faculty, and staff in order to learn differing perspectives
    • Establish a solid sense of one’s view on spirituality
  • Become contributing members of the community
    • Attend residence hall service-based programs
    • Attend other service activities on campus
    • Lead service projects on campus and in the community
    • Serve as a role-model to peers
  • Achieve academic excellence
    • Attend wisdom/education-based programs in the residence halls
    • Participate in study groups in the residence halls or on campus
    • Ask questions and receive tutoring when necessary
    • Respect quiet hours in order to support an optimal study environment
  • Develop a strong sense of self
    • View oneself as an adult
    • Be confident in one’s decisions
    • Take responsibility for one’s actions and respect residence life and college policies
    • Make nutritional and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Develop mature relationships
    • Confront negative and/or harmful behavior in peers
