The study of psychology at Huntingdon means participating in your coursework through involvement in the community.
- Internships, guest speakers, clubs, and organizations bring the knowledge you have gained in the classroom to life and give you experience for your résumé.
- Located in the state’s capital city, Huntingdon has access to a variety of internship placement sites. Recent students have chosen internships with the State of Alabama, private adoption agencies, drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinics, pastoral counseling programs, and local crisis counseling centers.
- Small classes allow for professors to know you well and to help you refine your career path and study objectives.
- Respected faculty who have current knowledge in the field, connections with local and state agencies and clinics for internship placements, and a broad-based liberal arts curriculum prepare you to follow nearly any career path or enter graduate school upon graduation.

Graduate and Career Placement
Huntingdon Psychology graduates have entered graduate study in a wide variety of subjects including drug and alcohol abuse counseling, clinical psychology, marriage and family counseling, forensic psychology, school counseling and educational psychology, cultural psychology, sport psychology, law, chemistry, mathematics, medicine, and seminary. Graduates in recent years have entered graduate or professional programs at the University of Alabama, the College of William and Mary, Marymount University, Asbury Seminary, Boston College, Duke University, University of Alabama-Birmingham, Alabama A&M, Auburn University, Troy University, Barry University, Suffolk University, the University of Cincinnati, and Marquette University.
Some graduates choose to begin working upon graduation. Graduates of the major have careers in genetic counseling, applied developmental psychology, human relations, human resources, general counseling, college admission counseling, sales, coaching, business, and law enforcement, among other fields.
