“It was a great privilege to speak with my friend, Dr. John N. Gardner, and to reflect on the excellence we have found and fostered at Huntingdon College, just as it’s been my privilege to serve as president of this great college for nearly 21 years,” said President West. “I appreciate his vast knowledge of American higher education, and the care with which he posed the questions he asked. In fact, as I said during the interview, Dr. Gardner has been one of my mentors in higher education leadership, and with every question I was reminded how important it is that we have great minds like his to continually redirect attention to student success, especially in the context of institutional success.”
