Huntingdon Rises in U.S. News Best College Rankings

Montgomery, AL – Huntingdon College has been named to three lists on the 2025 U.S. News Best Colleges Rankings. Huntingdon has been ranked number 3 of the Best Values in Regional Colleges-South, number 8 in the overall list of Regional Colleges-South; and 18 for Regional Colleges-South for Social Mobility. Huntingdon has also been included in the Princeton Review “2025 Best Colleges: Region by Region.”

Huntingdon President Anthony Leigh celebrated this report. “These rankings are further validation that Huntingdon is increasingly recognized as one of the south’s premier pre-professional colleges. As I travel across Alabama and around the southeast, there is growing awareness that Huntingdon provides a vibrant campus experience. We continue to see an uptick in enrollment as more and more families understand the value a Huntingdon education affords their student. It’s a great time to be a Huntingdon Hawk.”

The College’s number 3 rank for U.S. News Best Values in the region is up from number 10 in last year’s list. Rankings evaluate colleges and universities on measures of academic quality, including subjective peer institution and guidance counselor scores as well as objective data.

The number 8 ranking for overall Regional Colleges-South is one ranking higher than in 2024.

The 18 ranking for Social Mobility is 6 higher than in 2024. The Social Mobility list measures a school’s success at enrolling and graduating students who are from challenging socioeconomic circumstances, as determined by qualifying for Federal Pell Grant, in comparison with the overall graduation rate. This is the third time Huntingdon has ranked on the Social Mobility list.

Huntingdon College, grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition of the United Methodist Church, is committed to nurturing growth in faith, wisdom, and service and to graduating individuals prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Founded in 1854, Huntingdon is a coeducational liberal arts college.
