Chapman-Benson Lectureship to Feature Beth Felker Jones
Montgomery, AL – Huntingdon College will host Dr. Beth Felker Jones, Professor of Theology at Northern Seminary in Lisle, Illinois, as the lecturer for the Chapman-Benson Lecture series on Wednesday, February 12, 7:00 p.m. in the Delchamps Recital Hall in the Smith Music Building. This event is free and open to the public.
The Chapman-Benson Lectureship was established by the estate of Huntingdon alumna, Marie Chapman Benson ’30, to bring distinguished scholars and practitioners of the ministry of the Church to the Huntingdon campus. Dr. Jones will share on the topic of “The Christan Hope of the Bodily Resurrection.”
Dr. Jones is an accomplished author, speaker, and professor. Her publications include Practicing Christian Doctrine: An Introduction to Thinking and Living Theologically and God the Spirit: Introducing Pneumatology in Wesleyan and Ecumenical Perspective. She currently teaches on the topics of Theology, Christian Doctrines: Pneumatology and Eschatology, and Gender and Theology.
Dr. Stephen Sours, Chair of the Department of Religion and History at Huntingdon, shares the College’s excitement to welcome Dr. Jones, “”The Religion Department is very excited that Dr. Jones will be speaking on campus. She is a widely respected theologian with an impressive range of academic expertise. In fact, we have used her theology book in our classes, so I’m pleased that our students will be able to interact with her directly when she comes to Huntingdon.”
