As you prepare your student to move to his or her college home and to leave your home, you may have some degree of anxiety, concern, or sadness. This final stage of the “growing-up” process can be a painful one for both the student and the parent, but you can learn to enjoy the college years as much as your student does. At the end of these four years, you will be introduced to a new adult who is equipped to face the next challenges in graduate or professional school or in his or her first professional job, as well as all of the joys and obstacles of life. Your son or daughter will be ready, and so will you.
