Jennifer Fremlin, Ph.D.
Jennifer Fremlin was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, where she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in English. In 1986 she moved to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to pursue an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. She then moved to Providence, R.I., for Ph.D. studies, after which she returned to Alabama to teach English at Alabama State University. She joined the English department of Huntingdon College in 2004, after 10 years at ASU. She lives in Montgomery with her husband and two children. Besides reading and writing, she spends her free time swimming, traveling to Canada, and walking the grounds of the Wynton Blount Cultural Park with her dogs.

Dr. Fremlin has published several short stories, was a co-author and editor of three editions of a college writing textbook, and most recently was a co-editor and contributor to a volume of essays coming out of the University of Alabama Press about teaching at Montgomery’s historically black university.
Huntingdon College is a college of the United Methodist Church.
