Eight Huntingdon Faculty Receive New Roles in the Academic Year
Montgomery, AL – Eight members of the Huntingdon College faculty were elevated to new roles to begin the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
- Diana Abernethy was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Religion.
- Erin Chandler was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of English.
- Kyle Christensen was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Communication Studies.
- Christopher Clark was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Accounting.
- Emily Hare was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Biology.
- The Reverend Dr. Joy J. Moore is now serving as the Chapman-Benson Distinguished Scholar in Residence in Biblical Proclamation.
- James Patterson was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Chemistry.
- Kristin Zimbelman was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Elementary Education.
With these promotions, twenty-eight of Huntingdon’s sixty full-time faculty are now tenured: ten hold the rank of Associate Professor, and eighteen more hold the rank of full Professor. Dr. Sarah Conrad Sours, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, lauded their achievement: “To be awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor is a significant professional accomplishment at any college. I’m convinced that it’s an especially meaningful honor here—Huntingdon faculty are exceptionally talented, dedicated, and conscientious.”
