Eight New Faculty Join Huntingdon

Montgomery, AL – Huntingdon College welcomes eight new faculty to campus.  The new staff will serve in the fields of criminal justice, English, history, library science, music education, and religion.

  • Ms. Kim Abrams joins the faculty as an instructor of criminal justice. She has a master’s degree in public administration from American Public University (2019) and she is pursuing her PhD in criminal justice at Liberty University.
  • Ms. Tiffanie Dotson joined the College in the spring as the access services librarian and assistant professor.  She has a master’s degree in library and information science from North Carolina Central University.
  • The Rev. Dr. Kelsey Grissom is a visiting assistant professor of religion. She holds a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Her dissertation was entitled “Kids are People Too: Preaching to All Ages.” She joins us from Birmingham Southern, her alma mater, where she was a visiting lecturer in religion.
  • Dr. Kacey Kennedy will serve as an assistant professor of music education. She has a master’s degree in music education from Central Methodist University in Missouri and recently completed her PhD in music education at the University of Missouri.
  • Dr. Courtney Parker, Huntingdon class of 2009, has come back to the nest, joining us as an assistant professor of English. She holds a master’s degree in English literature from Brandeis University, and a PhD in English literature from The University of Alabama, where she has been serving as an instructor for the last two years. Her dissertation title was “Women and Witchcraft in Early English Literature.”
  • Dr. Will Ramsay is joining Huntingdon as an instructor of English. He completed a PhD in English literature from University of Alabama, where he wrote the dissertation “Ben Johnson and the Four Emotions: Desire, Fear, Grief, and Happiness.” He also has a master’s degree in English from Middle Tennessee State University.
  • Dr. Charles Roberts come to the College from Andrew College in Georgia, where he was an associate professor of history and coordinator of the social sciences division. He holds a PhD in history from the University of Alabama, where he wrote on the economic history of the rural south. He will be an assistant professor of history and the program coordinator at Huntingdon.
  • Ms. Dawn Wiley will serve in the history program as an instructor. She has a master’s degree in history from Georgia State University and is pursuing a PhD in history at The University of Alabama, where she is writing on gender, class, and war in Civil War era Georgia.
