Huntingdon Alumna recognized as AACE Intern of the Year
Montgomery, AL – Keeley Johnson ’24 is the 2024 recipient of the AACE Intern of the Year Award. AACE is the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers whose vision is to “provide counsel, direction, and service to the community, businesses, and students in striving to develop a productive, motivated, and competent workforce.” The criteria for the internship award is based upon grades and academic achievements, contributions to the intern employer, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters from a faculty advisor and site supervisor as well as a “student statement” about the internship experience.
Keeley was nominated for the award by Sherry Leigh Farquhar, Huntingdon College’s Director for the Center of Career and Vocation. Mrs. Farquhar is also the First Vice President of the AACE.
Keeley also received the Huntingdon College Internship Excellence Award in 2023 for her outstanding work at The Little House Counseling Center in Prattville and she continued to excel this past year at the Montgomery Area Psychiatric Services. Keeley is currently attending Auburn University at Montgomery for her master’s in clinical mental health counseling and she has recently accepted the position of Mental Health Technician at Crossbridge Behavioral Health in Montgomery.
