Huntingdon Student Political Organizations Gear Up for Active 2024
Montgomery, Ala. –As we approach the start of the 2024 presidential election year, Huntingdon’s student political organizations are gearing up to support their candidates of choice and advance their issues of interest. In addition to engaging in the presidential election, Huntingdon students will have an opportunity to volunteer for candidates competing in Alabama’s newly drawn second congressional district and other local and statewide contests.
All three political groups on campus – the Young Democrats, the College Libertarians, and the College Republicans – will hold organizational meetings during the second week of Spring semester classes to discuss opportunities to engage in the political process in the coming months. Each group will hold separate meetings on January 17 at 12:30 p.m. The College Republicans will meet in Wilson 205. The Young Democrats will gather in Wilson 207. The College Libertarians will meet in Wilson 210.
On January 18, the Huntingdon Ambassadors will hold their annual voter registration drive in the foyer of the Julia Russell Dining Room to assist any member of the campus community interested in registering to vote or changing their address for voter registration purposes. More information about registering to vote can be found at vote.gov.
Huntingdon College will once again serve as the polling place for residents of surrounding neighborhoods during the March 5 Alabama primary, the April 16 primary runoff, and the November 5 general election.
