Huntingdon Welcomes New Students to the Nest
Montgomery, AL – Beginning on Wednesday, the newest Hawks at Huntingdon College arrived for check-in and a weekend full of activities to welcome them to the college experience. The class of 2028 and transfer students, with over 340 members, began the orientation festivities by moving into their residences on campus. On Thursday evening they enjoyed an opening session led by the outstanding upperclassmen orientation leaders (OLs) complete with a luau theme for introductions and the traditional OL dance.
On Friday, the new students were led by the OLs, faculty, and staff in informational sessions including campus tours, general campus education, and an academic success seminar. In the evening, the 20 orientation groups, divided into two teams and led by the OL Hype Squad, competed in the annual Scarlet and Grey games. After a close competition of contests including tug of war and relay style races, the Scarlet team took home the winning honors.
Saturday continued with training on technology services, campus community, and campus organizations. Sunday concluded the weekend with a Communion Service and the evening Honor at Huntingdon Convocation followed by the new student toast on the steps of Flowers Hall. Forty new students were highlighted at the toast as the All-Stars of Orientation. These students were selected by their peers as outstanding members and leaders in the new class.

The faculty and staff, along with the orientation leaders, created an outstanding welcome to Huntingdon.”
