Men’s Greek Life Grows on Bid Night
Montgomery, AL – On Thursday, August 29, the Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Huntingdon College welcomed 29 men to their membership across three fraternities. These organizations, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Nu, and Sigma Phi Epsilon, have a strong history on campus of brotherhood, personal growth and development, community service, academic standards, and college spirit.
Dillon Bryars ’25, the current IFC President, gave an overview of what it means to be a fraternity man at Huntingdon College before he announced the new members. Bryars stated,
“There are many things that Greek life means to me. Amazing philanthropic opportunities like Sigma “Pie” Epsilon which raised money for Canine Companions, Lambda Chi Alpha’s blood drive, and Sigma Nu’s bone marrow registry. Also, the hundreds and hundreds of hours of service we work to make sure that our Huntingdon and greater Montgomery communities are something we can be proud of. And commitment to something greater than yourself. Each of us in this room have made the choice to commit ourselves to something that will outlive us, and impact generations of young men and women who will walk through these halls long after we’re gone.
All of these are true but most importantly, when I think of Greek life, I think of the bond of brotherhood. It is this bond of brotherhood that is the reason I joined fraternity life, and it is the reason that many of us stay in our fraternities. It is what unites us and drives us to be better men for our families, our communities, for Huntingdon!”
Congratulations to the newest fraternity men to join the Huntingdon College IFC:
