New Huntingdon College Trustees Elected

Montgomery, AL – Two new trustees were elected to the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees in May of 2024. The new members are Rev. Ashley Davis and Mr. Walker Garrett ’07.

Rev. Ashley DavisRev. Ashley Davis is a native of Luverne, AL.  She is currently serving as the Director of Connectional Ministries and Assistant to the Resident Bishop for the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. In her role as Director of Connectional Ministries, she helps to steward the vision of the annual conference.  Prior to her conference work, she was on staff at Woodland United Methodist Church in Pike Road, AL, and at the Troy University Wesley Foundation.

Huntingdon President Anthony Leigh stated, “Throughout her ministry in the Alabama-West Florida Conference, Rev. Ashley Davis has been a great friend to Huntingdon and a champion of United Methodist higher education.  She is a respected leader for the denomination, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Huntingdon Board of Trustees.”

Mr. Walker Garrett '07Mr. Walker Garrett ’07 is a trial attorney for Morgan & Morgan Law Firm. He is a resident of Columbus, GA where he not only works and lives, but is a dedicated member of the community volunteering and serving on numerous leadership boards including The Literacy Alliance, MyTeamTriumph, the Rotary Club, Direct Services Corporation, and Greater Columbus Young Professionals.  He is also an elected city councilman for District 8 in Columbus. Walker is a member of the Huntingdon Society and is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

“Walker Garrett exemplifies a life of applying wisdom in service as a city councilman, an accomplished attorney, and a great civic leader for the nonprofit community in Columbus, Georgia,” stated Dr. Leigh. “He was a campus leader as a student at Huntingdon and he has continued to show great enthusiasm and zeal for Huntingdon as a member of our alumni family.  I’m excited for the energy and commitment he brings to the Huntingdon Board of Trustees.”
